About UsMike Smith is a life long resident of Burke County. He graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in 1975 with an Associate Degree in Forest Technology. After graduation, he went to work for Kimberly Clark Corp. Two years later, he joined Coastal Lumber Co. as a procurement forester. He later moved to the procurement department at BLT Bros. Logging.Mike decided to start his own business in 1987 and has worked in various aspects of the forestry business ever since. His forestry experience includes buying and selling timber, chemical application, and reforestation. He has planted more than 50,000,000 seedlings since 1987. Mike obtained his Georgia Real Estate and Georgia Real Estate Appraisers licenses in 1992 as an expansion of his forestry business. He received his Georgia Real Estate Brokers license in 2004. Because of his forestry background, combined with his real estate background, he is very knowledgeable of land and timberland in Burke and surrounding counties.
